Planning on buying a house?
Buying a home is often one of the biggest decisions in your lifetime. We've helped hundreds of buyers and sellers understand the various issues and reach their goals. But before you start looking, it's important to do a little housekeeping.
1. Physically list out your goals. This should cover what's important to you and your future, as well as what you're going to need out of this property. Goals are different for everyone, so take time to prioritize them. Decide what's important to you as a homebuyer. Find out what your 'must haves' are compared to the 'would like' items for your neighborhood and home.
2. Get an idea of price. By getting pre-qualified first, you'll know just how much house you can afford. This step may also help you rank your priorities better once you have a budget.
3. Decide on whether an urban neighborhood or country lifestyle fits you better. This may hinge on an area that's convenient to work and other services. For some, school zones are a major consideration. For others recreation, shopping, churches, parks and beaches are higher on the list.
4. Give us a call to help you fine tune your residential profile. We can help evaluate other factors of zoning, home owners associations, tax millage rates, and flood zones. This data may affect your decision of where to buy, depending on whether you're buying your first home, second home, resort property, or you're an experienced investor.
